Professor Norman Epstein, a leading Canadian chemical engineer and mentor, passed away on July 29th, 2023. He was a cornerstone of the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering for nearly 75 years and made significant contributions to spouted beds and fluidization research.

John Grace
Dr. John Ross Grace passed away on May 26, 2021, in Vancouver. A leading expert in fluidization and clean energy processes, he was a professor at McGill University and later Head of Chemical Engineering at the University of British Columbia. He authored over 700 publications and was awarded the Order of Canada.

Dimitri Gidaspow
Dr. Dimitri Gidaspow, Distinguished Professor, Emeritus. 88, of Northbrook, passed away January 9, 2023 after a long battle with prostate cancer. He was the beloved husband for 62 years of Helene Gidaspow nee Tscharkowskaja; loving father of Michael (Julie) Gidaspow and grandfather of Alex Gidaspow and Zach Gidaspow.
